A HARD TO FIND BOOK ON HOW THE NAZIS GOT CRIMINALS OF THE STREETS!

The 6 x 8-3/4 inch, 138 page soft cover book by Kurt Daluege (SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer and Generaloberst of the Police) was published in 1936 by the Central Publishing House of the NSDAP. The copy that is offered here once belonged to the library of the Police President's Office in Frankfurt. The cover art is done by Mjőlnir, the official cartoonist of Dr. Joseph Goebbels who also created a lot of very graphic posters for the Nazi party. The book deals about the achievements of the Nazi German Police in their battle to reduce crime in Hitler-Germany. The statistics in the book show a serious decline of crime since 1933 when the Nazis came to power. There are many photos showing the labor camps and jails where 'Berufsverbrecher' (Professional Criminals) were taken and what work had been assigned to them, in the hope to make them functioning members of the National Socialist society. The author, Kurt Daluege who was not only Generaloberst of the Police but also chief of the uniformed Ordnungspolizei and ruler of the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia after Reinhard Heydrich's assassination was interned in Nuremberg until September 1946, when he was extradited to Czechoslovakia and tried for his war crimes committed in the Protectorate, i.e. his order (along with Karl Hermann Frank) to raze the village of Lidice to the ground in reprisal for Heydrich's death. He was convicted of all charges and hanged in Pankrac prison in Prague.

A very interesting and hard to find Third Reich Police book!

"Police and Outlawry in the Third Reich"
