The scarce 10-3/4 x 13-1/2 inch, 96-pages hardcover book by Wilfried Bade was published 1934 by Verlag Die Deutsche Illustrierte in Berlin. It is volume one (and only volume!) of a planned series of oversize photo books on the Third Reich. It is subtitled “Arbeit und Brot” (Labor and Bread) which stands for the efforts the Nazi regime put in the battle against unem-ployment and hunger in Germany in 1933. The book is a summary of the most important things that happened in Hitler-Germany between January 30, 1933 and January 1934. January 30, 1933 was the day when Hitler was appointed Reich Chancellor by Reich President Paul von Hindenburg. There are photos on nearly every page and because of the size of this book the full page photos are very large! The book is in very good condition, there are some stain spots on the (empty) first and last page. A seldom seen asset to every collection of historical Third Reich material!
