RARE ORIGINAL EARLY FRAMED ADOLF HITLER SIGNED PORTRAIT
Large early framed AH portrait print – a steel engraving based on a drawing by RW – (possibly Rudolf Warnecke), signed by Adolf Hitler in pencil. On the reverse: ‘Besuch Hitlers bei Graf Solms auf Schloss Solms bei Kloster Arnsburg Anfang 1932. Unterschrift von Hitler persönlich. Hanns Goar’ (Adolf Hitler’s visit to Count Solms at Solms Castle near Arnsburg Monastery in early 1931, Personally signed by Adolf Hitler. – Hanns Goaar). The mentioned Graf Solms probably is (was)Bernhard zu Solms-Laubach. He was an aviator in the 1920s. Bernhard zu Solms-Laubach was a member of the Nazi Party and a member of the state parliament in Hessen from 1931 to 1933. After the seizure of power by the NSDAP, he was theater director. In 1933 he became artistic director at the Dessau Friedrich Theater and in 1934 at the Berliner Volksbühne . In 1936 he was director of the theater on Nollendorfplatz in Berlin. He died by suicide. Overall frame size is 13-1/2 inches x 11-1/2 inches. The portrait is around 9 inches x 11 inches. The frame has new museum UV protecting glass to help preserve the piece.
