COMPLETE ORIGINAL 1930s HEAVILY ILLUSTRATED GERMAN 38(!) VOL. PHOTO BOOK SET ABOUT THE BLOODY BATTLES OF WORLD WAR ONE ‘SCHLACHTEN DES WELTKRIEGES’ THOUSANDS OF PAGES / HUNDREDS OF MAPS AND PHOTOS!
This one-of-a-kind- book set consists of all 38 volumes, all 6-1/2 x 9 inch hardcover in good to very good condition. Two volumes have a damaged spine but this is the only damage we could find. Together with thousands of pages, hundreds of maps and photos, this set is, in our opinion, the most comprehensive documentary of World War One from German point of view that was published in Germany in the 1930s! Each volume has a pocket in the back in which large fold-out maps are stored that contribute to the content of the volume. Battles such as Verdun are covered in more than one volume. The book set was started in 1924 and the last volume was published in 1930. These books were expensive back then, one volume cost RM 4.50 which was a lot of money at the time. The original owner kept the books in very good condition, the bindings are tight and there is no damage to any of the pages (as far as we could see when we inspected each book).
A fantastic book set for every historian, history buff, museum, World War One collector, etc.!
