Offered for sale is this nice complete Third Reich sword, made by the well-known maker Eickhorn. This is one of the Eickhorn Field Marshal series which was their premier line and included seven variants. For reference, try getting your hands on a copy of the long out of print book ‘Swords of Germany 1900-1945’ by Jack Angola. The sword offered here is Eickhorn nr. 1735 (Derfflinger) and it is in excellent condition, no dents in the scabbard and most of the original paint present, the blade has never been sharped, is not bent or otherwise damaged, the pointy tip is as pointy as it was when the sword left the Eickhorn factory. The only flaw is a small damage at the end of the guard. It also has the patent mark ‘Ges. Gesch.’ on the undernezth side of the guard. Please note the flat knuckle bow, a desirable feature.
