Original SS Propaganda Kompanie picture of (at the time) SS-Hauptsturmführer Fritz Klingenberg, taken by a SS Bildberichter (Photo Correspondent) in 1941 for Associated Press Bild, Berlin. Very interesting original Associated Press archive label on the back. The size is 130 x 180mm or 5-1/8 x 7-1/8 inches, very nice original condition and nice original ink signature. Klingenberg made it to the rank on SS-Standartenführer. He was KIA in March of 1945 in France.
Fritz Klingenberg managed with only a handful of his Waffen-SS men that the capital of Yugoslavia, Belgrade surrendered to him. For this he was awarded the Knight’s Cross. Today Belgrade is the capital of Serbia.
