Offered for sale is a rare original

A ‘Bierzeitung’ (Beer Newspaper or Pub Newspaper) is a humorous or satirical newspaper created for a specific occasion for a closed group of people. The term comes from the student language and originally referred to a festive newspaper produced for a pub and read out during the gathering. Many student songs were created as part of a beer newspaper. Custom and term were later adopted for other occasions, such as festivals of bourgeois associations or school graduation ceremonies.

Offered here is an original ‘Bierzeitung’ from 1938-1940 from the 1./SS-Rgt. “Germania”, published on occasion of a ‘Kameradschaftsabend’ (evening gathering) of members of the SS unit in Truchtelfingen.
