This 9-5/8 x 12-1/2 inch, 68 page soft cover book by Karl Seybold was published in 1933 to honor Hans Schemm. Schemm was SA-Gruppenführer and Gauleiter of Gau Bayerische Ostmark as well as appointed provisional Culture Minister and ‘Leader of Cultural and Educational Affairs in Bavaria’, appointed by Hitler in April of 1933. In 1935 he was seriously injured in a plane crash and died before the famous Berlin Professor Ferdinand Sauerbruch (Hitler personally ordered Sauerbruch to fly to Bayreuth) could help. His successor as Gauleiter became Fritz Wächtler. The Nazis posthumously honored Schemm as a publicist and educator by naming multiple schools, streets and halls after him. The copy that is offered here bears an original Hans Schemm ink dedication and signature, for some reason under one of the full page photos in the middle of the book and not in the front where one usually find a dedication. Unfortunately several pages got glued together in the middle at some point, causing some damage to some of the pages but still a very collectable book with an authentic dedication and signature of a NSDAP Gauleiter and the guy who, together with Dr. Goebbels, was in charge to determine what German children were taught in school (i.e. anti-Semitism).
