Offered for sale is a true rarity: an authentic architectural 230 x 260mm or 9 x 10-1/4 inch drawing from Adolf Hitler’s hand himself. It depicts the entrance of the huge ‘Volkshalle’ (People’s Hall or Great Hall) that was supposed to be one of the center points of the new Berlin which would then be renamed into Germania. Adolf Hitler ordered his favorite architect, Albert Speer to reshape the inner city of Berlin into something gigantic that would demonstrate who the masters of the world are. The hall was never built but Hitler and Speer spent a lot of time on Hitler’s dream of a reshaped German capital. Offered here is an authentic drawing from Hitler’s hand. The original owner bought it from no other than Ilse Hess, the wife of Hitler’s deputy who of course fell into disgrace when he flew to Scotland in 1941 to negotiate peace with England. Rudolf Hess was put in charge to collect as many pieces of Hitler art as possible for the planned Führermuseum in Linz which was never built because of the outbreak of the war. Nobody was thinking about the Hitler artwork that was in Hess’ possession and they remained in Ilse Hess’ possession even after the war. The drawing comes with a signed statement of the original owner and from whom he bought it.

In case that you are not so familiar with Hitler’s artwork: only Hitler could draw humans as they appear in this drawing–all of his figures–even in his paintings–have that weird disproportion/squiggly look. So typically Hitler, that it is amazing even to those who have seen many of his paintings up close and personal. Note also, that his block signature is used–which he continued on all his sketches, etc., from his earliest youth to his dying days. This drawing comes out of the collection of a gentleman who has spent many years studying Hitler’s artwork and actually has published a book on this subject. A rare opportunity to own an authentic piece of art from the hand of the man who was the most powerful man in Europe for a number of years.
