In July of 1936 the “International Central Bureau Joy and Work” was founded in Hamburg on occasion of the World Congress for Leisure Time and Recreation and Dr. Robert Ley, leader of the German Labor Front, was appointed by the 51 nations represented there to be President of this organization for life! Offered here are six very nice examples of the official monthly periodical of the “International Central Bureau Joy and Work” that was first published in 1936. Offered for sale are issues#4, 6 and 11 from 1937 and issues #2, 3 and 7 from 1938, all in in very good condition. The spines have been reinforced with tape but that does not affect the general condition of these rare publications. The 10-1/2 x 14-1/2(!) inch magazines each have about 130 heavily illustrated pages with countless photos and illustrations about leisure time, recreation and art in the Third Reich and other countries. Many pages have full color pictures and there are some fantastic Third Reich advertisings, too.
