MAX PAULY, COMMANDANT OF STUTTHOF CONCENTRATION CAMP

COMES WITH CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY AND FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE FOR AUTHENTICITY

Offered for sale is this rare original note signed by the commandant of Stutthof concentration camp, Max Pauly. Max Pauly (1 June 1907, Wesselburen – 8 October 1946, Hamelin) was an SS Standartenführer who was the commandant of Stutthof concentration camp from September 1939 to August 1942 and commandant of Neuengamme concentration camp and the associated sub-camps from September 1942 until liberation in May 1945. Pauly was tried by the British for war crimes with thirteen others in the Curio Haus in Hamburg which was located in the British occupied sector of Germany. The trial lasted from 18 March to 13 May 1946. He was found guilty and sentenced to death with 11 other defendants. He was never tried for the crimes committed at Stutthof. It comes out of the personal collection of one of the two authors of the probably most comprehensive publication on the Holocaust, the trilogy 'A Glimpse of Evil'. He also is a member of a Holocaust survivor foundation in Poland and most of his acquisitions came directly from survivors or their families. Comes not only with full money back guarantee for authenticity but also with a Certificate of Authenticity, issued by Norbert Podlesny - one of the two authors who's grandfather was a prisoner in Majdanek concentration camp, which sparked his decades long interest in the subject, his outstanding collection of historic artifacts and documents and superb knowledge of the subject.
