the document above is a list of the Volkssturm Batl. Weidenhausen / II.Kompanie / 2.Zug

this document, sent from the NSDAP Kreisleitung, dated February 11, 1945 gives some more guidelines on the re-cruiting of Volkssturm "soldiers". The second part of this document is on who in this community will receive the Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen for working on the Westwall, the fortification of the German border along the Rhine river. The war was almost over but the bureaucrats were still concerned that perhaps someone could receive this worthless medal who did not qualify!

this letter, dated October 22, 1944 and marked "EILT SEHR" (extremely urgent) is an order to report the exact number of men in the district who can be drafted in the Volkssturm and also an order to do a count on available uniforms, no matter if political NSDAP uniforms or of some other Nazi sub-organizations!

SOME OF THESE DOCUMENTS ARE DATED ONLY WEEKS BEFORE THE THIRD REICH COLLAPSED!

This rare lot consists of fourty extremely interesting documents, all from the NSDAP Ortsgruppe Günterod in the Gau (district) Hessen-Nassau. This lot is an important piece of history, showing that the bureaucracy and Nazi hierarchy still worked in the last weeks of the Third Reich. Most of these documents deal about where and how to recruit the men (and HJ-boys) for the Volkssturm, the last force Nazi Germany put together to defend the homeland. Some of these documents are lists of men of a mining company in the Kreis Biedenkopf-Dillenburg who were selected to been drafted into the Volkssturm. Depending on the importance of their employment they were divided into three "Aufgebote", the 1. (1st) "Aufgebot " was the first group of men who had to leave their jobs and join he Volkssturm and the 3. (3rd) being the last group. There is also one very interesting document with the order which age group of Hitler Youth boys has to become Volkssturm members!

the document above is an order that was sent from the NSDAP Kreisleitung to the NSDAP Gemeinde (County) leader. It is dated March 16, 1945 and saying that the Hitler Youth boys who were born in 1929 and 1930 (which means they were 15 and 16 years old in 1945) are "Notdienstverpflichtet". This term does not mean anything but that there were now assigned to the Volkssturm or as Flakhelfer in a defense position

close-up of a rare Volkssturm district leader (Kreisleiter) rubber stamp

a "Geheim" (secret) and "Vertraulich" (confidential) marked official letter, sent from the NSDAP Kreisleitung Biedenkopf-Dillenburg on March 20, 1945(!) with important direct orders for the NSDAP Ortsgruppenleiter in this region on how to round up every man who can be assigned to the Volkssturm, including refugees from the eastern part of the Reich, Wehrmacht soldiers who lost their units, foreigners, simply nearly everybody! And the document gives some clear orders what do do with those who deserted and/or do not want to join the Volkssturm and also where to search for them!
