SS SOLDBUCH

OF A GUNNER IN SEVERAL SS ARTILLERY UNITS UNTIL TRANSFERED TO THE 1./SCHWERE SS-ART.-ABT. 504

Offered here is a very interesting original SS document, issued to SS-Kanonier (Gunner) Bernhard Barbke. He was transfered to various SS units until finally being transfered to the new formed Schwere SS-Artillerie-Abteilung 504 in January of 1945. This is one of the least documented heavy artillery units of the SS because it was only in service from January to May of 1945. This unit fought in Hungary and around Vienna, Austria. The original owner of this rare SS Soldbuch was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class as well as the Nahkampfspange (Close Combat Clasp) in bronze.

Please note the last entry on the right page above, containing the stamp of the 1./SS-Schwere SS-Art.-Abt. 504 that was formed in January of 1945 and saw service in Hungary and around Vienna before capitulating to the Americans in May of 1945.
