RARE ORIGINAL 1938 POSTER FOR A STORMTROOPER THEATER PLAY

DIE STRASSE FREI...

A PLAY IN FOUR ACTS PLAYING AT THE TIME WHEN THE S.A. WAS DECLARED AN ILLEGAL ORGANIZATION

The title comes from the famous (infamous) Horst Wessel song "Die Fahne Hoch". The second strophe goes like this:

"Die Strasse frei den Braunen Batallionen

die Strasse frei dem Sturmabteilungsmann

es schaun aufs Hakenkreuz voll Hoffnung schon Millionen

der Tag für Freiheit und für Brot bricht an"

Clear the road for the Brown Batalions

Clear the road for the Stormtrooper

Full of hope are already millions looking at the swastika

the day of freedom and bread has come

The play was performed on July 30, 1938 in Attersee, Germany. Tickets cost RM 0.50 and up and the proceeds went to the NSV. The historic item was folded several times but there are to rips or other damages and it would display nicely when framed. Its size is 12 x 18 inches.
