Few people know that, but the Franz Eher Publishing House also published a special edition that consisted of only 300 copies total, 100 each bound in red, black and blue leather. These copies were not for public sale but were gifts to Nazi party loyalists and important members of the NSDAP. This copy here is one of only 100 printed in red leather. It shows signs of wear and the binding is not the tightest anymore - but what a prominent Nazi originally owned it! We did a lot of research and asked around among other dealers of this kind of material. The few who have even heard of the existence of this edition gave us their estimate. After consulting with our consignor we are pleased to announce that we are listing this treasure below the average price that the people we contacted would ask for it.

Leiter der Parteikanzlei (Party Chancellery) Martin Bormann

additional information:

Martin Bormann (17 June 1900 – 2 May 1945) was a prominent Nazi official. He became head of the Party Chancellery (Parteikanzlei) and private secretary to Adolf Hitler. He was almost always at his Führer's side. Hitler typically did not issue written orders, but gave them verbally at meetings or in phone conversations; he also had Bormann convey orders.  He gained Hitler's trust and derived immense power within the Third Reich by using his position to control the flow of information and access to Hitler. Bormann earned many enemies, including Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Göring, Heinrich Himmler, Alfred Rosenberg, Robert Ley, Hans Frank, and Albert Speer. Bormann, his adjutant, SS-Standartenführer Wilhelm Zander, and his secretary, Else Krüger, were with Hitler in the Führer's shelter (Führerbunker) during the Battle of Berlin. The Führerbunker was located under the Reich Chancellery (Reichskanzlei) garden in the government district in the centre of Berlin. On 2 May, the Battle in Berlin ended when General der Artillerie Helmuth Weidling, the commander of the Berlin Defense Area, unconditionally surrendered the city to General Vasily Chuikov, the commander of the Soviet 8th Guards Army.  It is agreed that, by this day, Bormann had left the Führerbunker. It has been reported that he left with Ludwig Stumpfegger and Artur Axmann as part of a group attempting to break out of the Soviet encirclement of the city. On 7 December 1972, construction workers uncovered human remains near the Lehrter Bahnhof in West Berlin just 12 m (39 ft) from the spot where a German civilian reported to the Russians that he buried Bormann in 1945. Dental records – reconstructed from memory in 1945 by Dr. Hugo Blaschke — identified the skeleton as Bormann's, and damage to the collarbone was consistent with injuries Bormann's sons reported he had sustained in a riding accident in 1939.

HITLER'S SECRETARY AND HEAD OF THE PARTY CHANCELLERY AND THEREFORE MEMBER OF HITLER'S INNER CIRCLE!

Offered for sale is a very special copy of Adolf Hitler's autobiography and political manifest! It was owned by no other than Martin Bormann, Hitler's personal secretary and head of the Chancellery. He gained immense power in the THird Reich and was therefore hated by Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Göring, Heinrich Himmler, Alfred Rosenberg, Robert Ley, Hans Frank, and Albert Speer, among probably many others. The book was taken by a member of the well known and highly decorated 28th Division 109th Infantry Regiment on 12 May 1945 from the Bormann residence in Pullach, Bavaria. Under Bormann a large bunker complex was built here, bigger and more luxurious than the Führerbunker under the Reichschancellery in Berlin and Bormann's villa was part of the installation and that is where this rarity was 'liberated'. Hitler never took shelter in the Pullach bunker but Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel used it to plan the invasion of Italy here in the summer of 1943. The West German secret service (Bundesnachrichtendienst or BND) is still using the facilities today.
