SS-Gruppenführer and head of the Gestapo Heinrich Müller aka Gestapo-Müller signed document, dated 9 February 1942 and sent from Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) Amt IV to the Oberreichsanwalt (Head Prosecutor) at the feared Volksgerichtshof (People's Court). Müller is asking for the indictment file of Prof. Dr. Karl Bömer who at that time already was in custody. Bömer was a high ranking official (Ministerialdirigent) in the Reich Propaganda Ministry of Dr. Goebbels and head of the press office of the NSDAP Foreign Office. In May of 1941, during a reception in the Bulgarian embassy he made comments about the upcoming German invasion of Russia while under the influence of too much alcohol. He therefore was arrested for treason, stood trial and, becasue of Goebbels' intervention, only received a three year sentence. In the spring of 1942 Goebbels managed to get him released, after Hitler agreed. To redeem himself he was sent to the Russian front, was wounded and died in a field hospital in Krakow, today Poland. Here is some more information on him, unfortunately only in German: Ministerialdirigent im Reichspropagandaministerium Karl Bömer

The head of the Gestapo was nicknamed ‘Gestapo-Müller’ to distinguish him from another SS general who also had the name Heinrich Müller.  As chief of the Gestapo he reported directly to Heydrich (and after his assassination to Ernst Kaltenbrunner) and Himmler and worked closely with Adolf Eichmann. He is one of the key figures of the Holocaust, attended the Wannsee Conference in 1942 and was always kept up to date about the work of the Einsatzgruppen. He was last seen in the Führerbunker in Berlin on 1 May 1945 and from there on there was no trace of him, making him the most senior figure in the Nazi regime who was never captured or confirmed to have died. Documents with his signature are very rare and it is only the second time that we are offering a document signed by him. Of course offered with a full money back guarantee for authenticity.

Here is some more info on him: Heinrich Müller (Gestapo)
