THIS UNIT WAS THE FIRST TO RECEIVE THE NEW ASSAULT TANK "BRUMMBAER"

Offered for sale is an interesting documents lot all from one individual, containing his Wehrpass, drivers license, apprenticeship diploma card, insurance card and death notice dated 1943 sent from the Wehrmacht command to the widow. He was a trained radioman (Funker) and the poor guy went through a lot of battles, Poland, Luxembourg, France and then Russia. He was assigned to the Sturm-Panzerabt. 216 which was the first unit that received the new Sturmpanzer IV Brummbar (see picture at the bottom of this page)! He was a "Funker" (radioman) and the crew of four of these new tanks had one radioman.We believe he rode in one of these tanks until he was killed in the battle of Kursk.

the Sturmpanzer-Abt. 216 was the first unit that received the new Sturmpanzer "Brummbaer" (see below) which first saw action during the battle of Kursk where this poor fellow gave his life.
