A SELDOM SEEN LEATHER BOUND HARDCOVER EDITION IN PROTECTIVE BOX OF THE PHOTO DOCUMENTARY OF HITLER AND THE BLITZKRIEG AGAINST POLAND!

An excellent 7 x 10 inch, 100+page, heavily illustrated hardcover book by Prof. Heinrich Hoffmann (Photoberichterstatter der Reichsleitung der NSDAP - official photographer of the Reich - Leadership of the NSDAP), published in 1939 by Zeitgeschichte Verlag in Berlin. The standard soft cover edition was published in a large number of copies but probably only very few copies of this fantastic leather bound DeLuxe edition (of which an even smaller percentage survived the war!). Such copies might have been gifts that the National Socialist government gave on official occasions Germany. This copy however was probably Adolf Hitler's personal copy! At least it was taken from his apartment in Munich on 4 June 1945 by an American GI (see pasted in note further down). The content of this book is identical with the content of the standard editions: following an introduction by Generaloberst Keitel, chief of the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (high command of the Nazi army or OKW) the 100 photos in this book provide an excellent overview about the Blitzkrieg against Poland in September 1939, Adolf Hitler's visits at the frontlines, cheering German civilians who welcome Hitler and the German troops, etc. ! A very interesting book on Adolf Hitler and the Blitzkrieg in Poland, code name "Fall Weiss".

The front cover is graced by a big Nazi eagle in gold. The letters on the cover and the spine are in gold as well

An American GI with the first name Barney took this book from Hitler's home in Munich on 4 June 1945 and sent it to the Dean of the Syracuse University Library. His name was addressed as Dean Miller by the fellow who took the book. His note that he pasted into the insidet of the front cover reads: 'Dear Dean Miller - Taken from Hitler's House Muenchen (Munich), Deutschland (Germany) 4 June 1945. For you or the library as you chose. Barney'. Dean Miller gave it to the mother of the gentleman who sold it to us in the 1960s when he retired from the University. The lady was at the time research librarian at Syracuse University and the book has been in the possession of this family until we have now purchased it. We give a full money back guarantee for the fact that this book once belonged to Adolf Hitler's library in his home in Munich.

Please note: if this would have been a fake or an item constructed by somebody to achieve a much higher price, it would have one of the countless fake Adolf Hitler book plates pasted on the inside of the front cover and not the note of the GI who took it in 1945!
