RARE ORIGINAL LEATHER COVER FROM A CHAIR FROM THE

SS-SCHULE HAUS WEWELSBURG

We bought this item years ago from an antique shop in Paderborn, the town nearby the Wewelsburg castle, together with two other leather covers. All three sold instantly back then. One of the buyers now asked us to list the one he bought for him because he shifted his collecting to a different subject matter. All three leather covers that we were able to aqcuire back then had faded stamps on the back 'SS-Schule Haus Wewelsburg' and each had a different NS symbol in the center. The one that is for sale now again bears the logo of the Nazi hunting organization.

Wewelsburg Study Room in 1935, the walls and chairs decorated with various Nazi and Germanic runic ornaments and symbols.

The restored North Tower with the Crypt in which Himmler intended to be buried, please note the Germanic black sun on the floor on the right.

In 1934 the SS leased the medieval castle near the village Wewelsburg close toPaderborn in Westfalia, Germany for the symbolic annually rental price of one Reichsmark. After the plans of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, a SS Führerschule should be developed there. The choice of the location fell on the former robbery knight castle of Wewel von Bueren, since Himmler was convinced of the fact that it was this castle that could only withstand an attack from the east after prophecy. Himmler created an office Wewelsburg which belonged, like the office Ancestor Inheritance, to his personal staff. Director became SS-Standartenführer Siegfried Taubert. For the development of the SS Ordensburg particularly an external command of the KZ Sachsenhausen (concentration camp) was formed. First there worked only 300 bible researchers from the KZ Wewelsburg/Niederhagen but in the further process of the development the camp became an independent concentration camp with a prisoner number of approx 1,200 persons. Himmler and his architect envisaged a much larger Wewelsburg which was intended to become the center of the SS world and home to the German Aryan elite, the SS. Instead of creating big seminar rooms Himmler and his architect Hermann Bartels created little study rooms which were decorated with all kinds of National Socialistic as well as Germanic Runic symbols. Also the leather backs of the chairs had these different ornaments on them. In1945, two days before the US Army arrived, the SS blew up the Wewelsburg.
