ORIGINAL ADOLF HITLER PENCIL DRAWING

Leonding

Adolf Hitler. "Leonding." 3.4" x 5.4"; pencil on art paper. A drawing of one of the Hitler boyhood homes. Leonding is a small town, located 5 kilometers (3 miles) southwest of Linz, Austria. Adolf Hitler moved there with his family in November 1898 when he was 9 years old. He lived with his family in this house at Number 16 Michaelsbergstrasse for seven years. Hitler's father purchased the house for 7,700 Kronen on a ten-year mortgage; it was later sold for 10,000 Kronen. The present drawing was done from memory in Landsberg. Most of the structure remained in Hitler's mind fairly accurately--some artistic license allowed him to make it more bucolic than it actually was. Interestingly, the unusually shaped tree was accurate almost to the branch. Like many of Hitler's small drawings from his prison days, Hess secured the work by mounting it on archival artboard.

$7,450.00 including domestic shipping with USPS. Shipping with other carriers optional at additional cost.
