Julius Streicher's Stürmerverlag in Nürnberg was founded in 1923. Streicher published not only the weekly anti-Semitic newspaper "Der Stürmer" but also a number of books with anti-Jewish illustrations. One of them, published in 1934, was entitled "Juden stellen sich vor" (Jews Introduce Themselves) and the embossed copper picture that is offered for sale was one of the illustrations in this book. In 1943, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Julius Streicher's publishing house, this unique item was made. We do not know how many were made and how they were distributed but we have never seen one before and assume that only a very small number of these had been made and they probably never were for public sale but perhaps a gift to faithful employees of the publishing house.

The total size of this unique item is 260 x 320mm or 10-1/4 x 12-5/8 inch. It looks as if the copper had been cleaned at some point of time and a thin layer of laquer has been applied. It would take very little effort to remove the laquer and give the copper a professional cleaning but this is left to the lucky buyer of this truly unique original item.
